The first contract, expected to begin in June, is to build 42 affordable bungalows on Ferguson Lane in Newcastle.

Your Homes Newcastle (YHN), which manages Newcastle City Council’s housing stock, has also engaged Keepmoat to remodel of the Blakelaw Estate, including re-roofing, demolition, rendering and highway works. These improvements also start in June with a completion date of summer 2016.

Finally Banbury Road in North Kenton will also be transformed as old apartment blocks are replaced with 65 new-build apartments in two housing blocks.

YHN head of assets and regeneration Jen Vinton said “We’ve worked with Keepmoat on a number of regeneration projects over the years. These latest three schemes are part of our wider regeneration programme over the next three years which will see us not only improve, but also build modern, high quality new homes for social rent.”

Keepmoat business development director Graham Scanlon said: “These three projects will make a huge impact to local communities and provide much needed affordable homes in Newcastle.”
