Kent street-furniture manufacturer expands

24 Jul 17 Kent-based Streetspace is about move into new offices and factory space.

The manufacturer of canopies and street furniture is moving to Lympne Industrial Park in Hythe after outgrowing its original production site in Wootton, near Dover. This doubles the factory space and quadruples the office and amenity area.

Managing director Tim Deacon said: “This is an interim move while our new 25,000-square-foot facility at Honeywood Parkway, Whitfield, progresses through the planning, design and construction phases.”

He added that the company had been working out of the Wootton base for 20 years and it was time to move on with more space needed to deliver increased orders, continue product development and provide facilities for the growing team.

Preparation for the move is under way to ensure there is minimal impact on production and is set to take place in mid-August. The move will also see investment in new IT systems with improved amenities and breakout space for the company’s 35+ staff.
