Kitchen and bathroom installers wanted

14 Jan 15 Local government procurement consortium LHC is putting together a framework for kitchen and bathroom installation work.

LHC wants to hear from small and large scale contractors who have experience of installing kitchens, bathrooms and associated works in social housing, schools, community centres and other public sector buildings.

The new framework of approved contractors will launch in summer 2015 to carryout work throughout England, Wales and Scotland.

The contract notice and pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) for LHC’s new kitchen and bathroom installation (KB3) framework is now available to download from the company’s website.

With two workstreams available, there are opportunities for both small, local companies to apply to the framework through workstream 1, which is for contracts less than £250,000. While larger, national contractors can focus on workstream 2 and apply for contracts above £250,000.

LHC director John Skivington said: “The range and scale of the work available through housing associations and local authorities on the kitchen and bathroom installation framework provides an opportunity for micro and SME builders and contractors to apply, alongside larger companies who have the resources to deal with major contracts.

“We want to be in the position to provide our customers with a choice of experienced companies, both large and small, who have the relevant experience, deliver exceptional quality and provide value for money.”

Contractors can register their interest and download the PQQ and Contract Notice from the LHC e-tendering portal – www.lhc.gov.uk/etendering.

The closing date for PQQs is 16th February 2015.
