Landmark Estates’ core territories over the past 15 years have been Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire but it opened a London office in March this year.

The Battersea site is at 56 Chatfield Road, London SW11 3UL. The former office building was bought from Alternative Networks plc for an undisclosed sum.

Subject to planning, the developer hopes to start construction of a residential scheme with 11 private apartments in January 2015.

Managing director James Bradley, who took over the business from his architect father in 2007, said: “Our first acquisition in London reflects our ambition to take the company into new territory.”

He added: “We are actively looking for more sites within west and southwest London.”
