L&T bags contract for 24 tower blocks in Bangalore

28 Mar 14 Larsen & Toubro Construction has won new housing orders worth INR1981 crores (£198m) including construction of 24 towers in Bangalore standing up to 29 storeys high.

The contract for the 24-tower residential development in Bangalore for one of south India’s leading property developers is the biggest residential order won in this financial year by the building and factories business. The scope of work involves civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and finishing work for 24 towers and 271 villas. The towers will have two basement levels and between 18 and 29 storeys.

The project is scheduled to complete in 42 months.

Another order has been received for construction of residential township in Gujarat. The project involves turnkey construction of 134 housing units.

“One of our key focus areas has been the growing potential in the residential sector and by winning these prestigious orders we have made significant inroads into this space,” said Larsen & Toubro board member SN Subrahmanyan.
