L&T outlines April contract wins

28 Apr 16 The construction arm of India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won contracts worth 17.98bn rupees (£179.7m) this month.

The company’s water and effluent treatment business won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order worth 5.65bn rupees to provide complete sewer network systems and decentralised sewage treatment plants with a total capacity 105 million litres per day.

The transportation infrastructure business has won a new order worth 4.97bn rupees from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for a widening contract in the state of Kerala.

In power transmission and distribution, L&T has won orders worth 4bn rupees in domestic and international markets. Larsen & Toubro Saudi Arabia has been appointed by Saudi Electricity Company for the engineering, procurement and construction of 132kV overhead transmission lines and cabling works in the Artawyah and Zulfi areas of Saudi Arabia. Wins also include an order from Power Grid Corporation of India for EPC of a new 400/220 kV AIS Sub-Station in Tumkur, Karnataka.

The Building & Factories Business has secured a mid-rise residential project worth 3.29bn rupees from a Mumbai developer. The contract involves civil, structural and finishes for 15 towers, ranging from 10 to 21 floors.
