Alan Merrell, Lavendon’s finance director for the past 19 years, is leaving at the end of June 2017.

He will be succeeded by Tom Murray who joined the UK subsidiary, Nationwide Platforms, in 2016 as finance director.

Alan Merrell is credited with being instrumental in guiding the organisation through its growth into an international operation.

Lavendon was taken over by French rental giant Loxam in February this year, and delisted from the London Stock Exchange.

Chief executive Don Kenny said: “Alan’s departure is most certainly the end of an era for Lavendon Group as he has been a cornerstone of our success story.  On a personal note, I would like to thank Alan for his valued partnership over the last few years and I know everyone at Lavendon wishes Alan the very best for the future.  He leaves Lavendon in very good hands as we enter a new and exciting chapter with Loxam Group.”
