Law firm poaches ‘rising star’ for construction push

16 Jan 15 Law firm Nabarro is targeting construction industry litigation as a key market for growth.

Nabarro has recruited Kevin Joyce from competitor Pinsent Masons to be a partner in its new infrastructure, construction and energy (ICE) practice. Mr Joyce is a project advisory lawyer and construction disputes specialist. He regularly acts as project counsel providing risk-management advice on major projects.

This appointment forms part of Nabarro’s push to develop its ICE practice which it set up in May 2014. This area is a key focus for the firm which is developing both its contentious and non-contentious work on energy, transport and waste projects.

Senior partner Graham Stedman said: “Infrastructure is a key sector for Nabarro and one of the areas where the firm is seeing an opportunity for growth.”

Steven Williams, partner and co-head of Nabarro’s ICE team, added: “Kevin is a rising star in the world of infrastructure risk management, dispute avoidance and resolution. I am confident he will make a significant contribution to the growth of our work and reputation in this area with national and international clients. His appointment signals one of what we expect to be a number of investments in our ICE team over the coming months.”
