Loughborough hospital to come down
Demolition of an old hospital in Loughborough is set to start in April after Charnwood Borough Council approved the move.
Loughborough General Hospital, built in 1862, has been empty since 2003 and going derelict.
Plans drawn up by property developer Domain Baxtergate to build student accommodation were rejected in 2005.
The four-storey hospital will be demolished down to floor slabs and foundations, with completion expected by June.
