Lovell celebrates ten years in Scotland
Affordable housing specialist Lovell has cause to celebrate after reaching an important milestone " the company’s 10th birthday in Scotland.
Lovell launched in Scotland in September 2001 and since then has provided over 2,500 new affordable homes, and refurbished 28,000 existing homes mainly consisting of the replacement of kitchens, bathrooms, re-roofing, insulated render systems and full modernisation and renovation projects. Over the last 10 years, they have also transformed the skyline by re-roofing and re-cladding 32 mini multi-storey apartment blocks and 15 multi-storey blocks from Aberdeen to Motherwell.
To celebrate the company’s milestone Lovell will be undertaking a series of community initiatives and celebrations throughout the next 12 months, focussing on specific local needs, which may otherwise lack the necessary support.
When the company started in Scotland it provided employment for 60 staff and operatives, and today employs over 420 people, from Dumfries and Galloway to Perth.
Alan Taylor, regional director at Lovell, says: “We have spent the last 10 years not only building inviting, comfortable homes in Scotland but also communities that local people enjoy living in. We have achieved a great deal since 2001 but our biggest achievement has been our framework agreements with key clients, where we have worked closely in partnership to make a real difference to peoples lives. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients in allowing us this success, including Glasgow Housing Association, North Lanarkshire Council, Midlothian Council, River Clyde Homes, Dunedin Canmore Housing Association and, more recently, West Lothian Council. We are committed to doing even more in the next decade and our anniversary year is set to be filled with celebrations and a focus on delivering valuable community initiatives as a further thank you to our many residents, supporters and clients.”
