Lovell in demand for social housing

Lovell’s Leeds office has booked three new bits of housing work worth a combined £12m.

Lovell has been appointed by Clarion Housing Group for two schemes together worth £2.9m that will create 24 affordable rented homes in east Leeds, at sites in Seacroft and near Halton.

In Hull, Lovell’s Compendium Living joint venture with social landlord Riverside is starting work on a £9.3m development of 68 homes in the Ings area.

This scheme is the latest phase of Compendium Living’s regeneration programme in partnership with Hull City Council. Lovell is building two-, three- and four-bedroom homes for Compendium, mostly for open market sale, and a number of affordable rented properties. The first tranche of 65 homes to be built through the Ings regeneration programme were completed by Lovell in August 2016.

Compendium Living is also creating 83 affordable homes for Together Housingon the Ings redevelopment. These homes are under construction by Lovell and expected to be completed by March 2018.

Lovell, part of the Morgan Sindall group, expects to build more than 200 homes in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Humberside during 2017. Regional managing director Robert Adams said: “The company continues to win work across the region thanks to our focus on long-term partnership working coupled with our ability to bring forward land for development and create high-quality new homes across a range of tenures, from affordable housing to properties for sale on the open market.”
