The scheme will create 49 new homes for social rent on a brownfield site in East Main Street. The land was previously home to the former Whitdale Primary School Annexe which was demolished in 2013.
Work has just started on the 60-week construction programme, which will create a mix of houses and flats. Part of the new development will incorporate stone reclaimed from the demolished school building.
