McLaren on course with £30m Uxbridge office job

15 Dec 15 McLaren Construction is on programme with a £30m contract for an office scheme in Uxbridge.

Aviva Investors selected McLaren for its Belmont office redevelopment in Uxbridge earlier this year.

Designed by TP Bennett, the project will provide more than 200,000 square feet of office accommodation over four storeys.

Existing facades will be stripped back to the concrete frame and the central core area will be demolished. These works will accommodate a new entrance and reception area, providing a new main focal point for the building.

Approximately a third of the building is being demolished. Major strengthening works to the existing concrete frame will enable additional accommodation to be added at roof level, increasing the floor area to 125,950 square feet.

The envelope will then be re-clad with a brick cladding system in addition to extensive areas of curtain walling and structural glazing.

Building services will also be replaced and green renewable technologies and a green roof will be installed to give a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

McLaren started works on site in July and is on programme with piling to the central core to start soon.
