Avonmouth-based Molson will provide sales and aftersales support for Kobelco dirt machines in England below the M62 motorway and Wales. Lloyd, based in Carlisle, will look after the north of England, above the M62, and Scotland.
The deal does not include Kobelco cranes, which come under a different division of the Japanese manufacturer.
Until December 2012 Kobelco construction machines were sold outside of Japan through an alliance with CNH Global. In November 2013 Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe opened a new facility in Almere in the Netherlands, to act as headquarters for expansion across Europe, the Middle-East, Africa and CIS.
