Morgan Sindall builds Lanarkshire school

6 Jan 15 South Lanarkshire Council has formally appointed Morgan Sindall to design and build the new £5.8m Braidwood Primary School.

The project, part of South Lanarkshire’s £812m primary schools modernisation programme, started on site in September and is due to complete in autumn 2015.

The new-build school will be 2,142m2 and have seven classrooms. The single storey building will be made from glued laminated timber (Glulam).There will also be an all-weather multi-use games area that will also be let out for use by the local community.

The school is being constructed on the footprint of the previous school, which was demolished last year. Pupils have been temporarily relocated re located to a neighbouring school.

Morgan Sindall is also involved in other schools in South Lanarkshire’s modernisation programme, including Machanhill Primary and Carnwath Primary Schools.
