Morrison Construction will build new premises for Greenfaulds High School in Cumbernauld. The contract, for North Lanarkshire Council, was awarded by Hub South West Scotland Ltd.

Galliford Try is investing £700,000 in the funding for the project.

The contract is one of a pair of schools in North Lanarkshire for which Morrison Construction was chosen back in 2013. The other is the Clyde Valley Schools Campus in Wishaw. (See our previous report here.) The contract price for the new Greenfaulds High School has risen 18% in the past 15 months, however.

Executive chairman Greg Fitzgerald said:  "The successful financial close of Greenfaulds High School follows closely behind the announcement by North Lanarkshire Council to award Morrison Construction a place on their £100 million framework. We look forward to working with the council to create buildings that will serve the whole community, as well as significantly enhancing the facilities for education in the region."
