The phased build will involve the refurbishment of the Victorian building and building an extension, with pupils remaining on-site for the duration of the works. The new and old elements of the building will be connected by a feature staircase.

Work starts this month and is scheduled for completion in spring 2019.

Morrison Construction regional managing director Donald McLachlan said: “The new school will become the fourth that Morrison is currently constructing for Argyll & Bute and Hub North Scotland Ltd, with the new Campeltown Grammar and Oban High schools, as well as the new Kirn Primary School, already on site. We look forward to continuing this spirit of partnership and are confident that with our experienced and dedicated site management team we will deliver what we do best – that is building quality facilities.”
