New directors join HS2

22 Jan 15 Two key new recruits have joined HS2 Ltd, the company gearing up to build a new high speed rail network between London and the north of England.

Jonathan Crone is joining HS2 from Foster Wheeler as director of the programme management office and Colin Morris joins from EC Harris as programme delivery strategy director.

Both will report directly to HS2 director of programme and strategy, Alistair Kirk.

Jonathan Crone was previously divisional manager at Foster Wheeler Energy, leading multi-disciplinary teams on oil and gas projects around the world. His previous experience on infrastructure projects includes programme management of Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok airport.

Colin Morris previously worked for Halcrow and the Ministry of Defence before he was with EC Harris. He has extensive experience of urban regeneration programmes. At EC Harris, he led the work with the Saudi government on projects including transport systems in Jeddah and the delivery plans for 12 new 45,000-seat football stadiums across the kingdom.

HS2 Ltd chief executive Simon Kirby said: “HS2 will soon become one Europe’s largest infrastructure projects and their experience of delivering highly complex projects on time and on budget will be essential as we prepare for the start of construction in January 2017.”
