She takes over from structural engineer Jane Wernick.

Ms Bartlett is a former maths teacher who became principal and chief executive of Bexley College in Kent, specialising in construction studies. From there, she joined the CIOB in 2008.

The CIC Diversity Panel meets four times a year to identify and promote diversity policy and activities within the construction industry.

CIC chief executive Graham Watts said: “ I am delighted to welcome Bridget to this new role. Her extensive experience in education and her leadership capabilities will be a great asset in taking forward our work on diversity and access.  She will be leading a new panel, which contains a wealth of experience from across the broad spectrum of CIC’s membership.”
