Venu Raju joins the main board of Keller on 1st January 2017 in place of Wolfgang Sondermann who leaves the board after 30 years with the company.

Born in India, Venu Raju studied civil engineering in India and the USA.  He has a PhD in structural engineering from Duke University and a doctorate in geotechnical engineering from Karlsruhe University. He began his career with Keller in Germany in 1994 as a geotechnical engineer, becoming managing director of Keller Singapore & Malaysia in 1999 and as business unit manager for Keller Far East in 2009. In 2012 he joined the executive committee as managing director, Asia.

Chief executive Alain Michaelis said: “We look forward to welcoming Venu to the board in 2017.  He brings a deep knowledge of our core specialism, geotechnical engineering, together with a broad understanding of Keller and its operations, to the board, assisting in our continued goal of being the world’s leading geotechnical contractor.

“We thank Wolfgang for his very significant contribution to Keller, both as a board member for the past 13 years and more widely for his distinguished 30 year career with the company. Wolfgang and Venu have worked closely together over the past year to achieve a smooth and well-ordered transition.”
