New faces on Clark’s board

30 Aug 13 Two new directors have joined the board of Scottish construction firm Clark Contracts.

Gerry Cummins, who manages the small works division and Michael Scanlan, who manages the construction west division have been made directors of the company.

Mr Cummins, 33, joined Clark Contracts in 2004 as an assistant quantity surveyor. He took over management of the company’s small works division in 2010.

 Mr Scanlan, 35, joined Clark Contracts in 2006 as a quantity surveyor and in 2011 took over management of the construction west division, which has an annual turnover of £20m.

Executive chairman Steve Clark, who founded the company in 1978, said: “These appointments reflect the hard work, talent, commitment and success both Gerry and Michael have displayed since they joined the company and now they are bringing all of those attributes to strengthen our existing board. Clark Contracts is an ambitious company with plans to grow and we are very confident both new directors will also make a substantial contribution to our future prospects. We believe passionately in supporting the personal growth and development of all of our employees and both Gerry and Michael are outstanding examples of this policy in practice.”
