New tower blocks for Croydon

29 Jan 14 Royal Mail Estates has secured full planning permission for the redevelopment of its delivery office site next to East Croydon station in Surrey.

The planning consent grants permission for 201 residential apartments with a 20,000 sq ft retail unit on the ground floor. The scheme on Addiscombe Road is designed by architect Allies & Morrison. The apartments will be arranged in three linked buildings, ranging from eight to 21 storeys, around a central communal courtyard. The scheme will provide 15% affordable homes and 85% private. It sits within the Croydon Opportunity Area.

The existing Royal Mail delivery office (pictured below) will be demolished and services relocated to elsewhere in the borough.

Deloitte Real Estate advised on planning, cost consultancy and sustainability.
