New Zealand looks for innovation in Christchurch schools rebuild

23 Jul 14 New Zealand’s Ministry of Education is inviting bids for innovative ways to reduce cost and increase efficiency in the Christchurch schools rebuild programme.

The Ministry’s Christchurch Schools Rebuild Programme (CSRP) property team intends undertaking a building innovation project to leverage the construction industry’s current thinking with regards to innovative approaches and the potential for cost savings.

It is publishing an expression of interest (EOI) in order to create a shortlist of suitable participants to work on the development an innovative approach for the design and construction of a school project in Greater Christchurch.

Following the EOI, the shortlisted consortiums will have the opportunity to provide more detailed responses during the request for proposal (RFP) stage. The successful respondent at the RFP stage will be taken forward to work with the ministry to develop their proposal to deliver a project in Greater Christchurch. Dependent on the success of this development phase, the successful respondent may be engaged to implement their solutions and deliver other school projects.
