Ocon completes £5m Liverpool scheme

Ocon Construction has completed its £5 million student accommodation scheme on Liverpool’s London Road, bringing the number of student accommodation units delivered by the company this year to over 1,800.

The scheme, designed by Lewis & Hickey architects, completed on time and within budget, allowing students to move in to the quality accommodation for the start of the 2011/2012 academic year.

Developed by Westville Developments, part of the Parkmooor Group, the 100-unit scheme of en-suite studio apartments also includes basement car parking and ground floor retail units.  It is the second student accommodation scheme that Ocon has built on London Road and adds to the company’s track record in Liverpool, which also includes a £34 million scheme for the University of Liverpool that is currently on site.

Comments managing director of Ocon, Andrew Barker: “This is a high profile scheme that has seen us deliver the results within a challenging 12-month programme.”
