Olympic gold for A-Plant

A-Plant Lux has supplied 80 portable variable message signs (VMS) to help keep traffic moving during the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

The A-Plant Lux Variable Message Signs, manufactured by PWS, are being used around various inner London venues, including the Olympic Park, Wembley Stadium and Lord’s Cricket Ground, as well as venues away from the capital such as Brand’s Hatch, Cardiff’s Millennium stadium and Manchester’s Old Trafford stadium.

A-Plant Lux business development director Jim McLachlan said: “We were awarded this prestigious contract as we could supply brand new VMS signs across the length and breadth of the UK, so we are providing equipment in keeping with a world staged event.  Messages on the signs can be remotely updated within minutes as they operate using the latest LED and Solar Technology from an intuitive web-based programme.”

A-Plant Lux has set up a 24-hour dedicated Olympics call centre. It has more than 500 people employed within London alone.
