Osborne has been contracted to build 18 new homes for Hackney Council, of which 14 are for shared ownership and four for sale on the open market to help fund the development.
The site on Reading Lane, near Hackney town hall, is already cleared and work is expected to start within weeks.
The contract with Osborne requires the company to take on six apprentices and at least a quarter of the workforce from the borough through the council’s Ways into Work scheme.
