Permission granted for 200m-tall Queensland tower

19 Dec 16 The Australian state of Queensland has granted permission for construction of a 200m-tall tower at the Jupiters Gold Coast development.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said that the Star Entertainment Group's commitment to projects with a combined investment of up to AU$850m (£497m), including the new hotel and apartment tower, would increase accommodation to almost 1,400 rooms, generate more than 1,000 jobs and increase Jupiters' workforce to approximately 2,300.

"This is another vote of confidence in Queensland and the Gold Coast as a must-visit tourism destination," said Palaszczuk. “My government continues to work with The Star on its master plan, which could see the construction of a further four towers," she added.
