Main contractor RG Carter Civil Engineering has subcontracted to Aarsleff the installation of 54 piles for each of the three turbines to be erected, meaning 162 piles in total.

Piles installed will be 338mm diameter open-ended steel tubes, with an anticipated pile length ranging from 18 metres to 24 metres, founding in sandstone.

The work was carried out in July 2016 with a Junttan PM20 rig, fitted with a five-tonne accelerated hammer.

The three turbines are expected to generate enough energy to power the equivalent of 5,400 homes.
