Yesterday the company submit to South Bucks District Council for approval the detailed design of the first phase of its Pinewood Studios Development Framework.

As previously reported, the local council rejected the 100,000m2 scheme last year on the grounds that it damaged the green belt and impacted too much on local residents. However, in June it was overturned on appeal by communities secretary Eric Pickles.

In the four months since the Pinewood was granted outline planning permission, it has been developing the detailed design of the first phase. This will comprise five stages, 10 workshops, production offices and associated infrastructure and landscaping.

Subject to approval of the detailed design, which is anticipated by the end of 2014, construction work on the first phase is expected to start in the first quarter of 2015, with occupation a year later.
