The four-storey block, designed by MAS Architecture, will be built in in Princess Road East, near the University of Leicester. It will have 110 en-suite studio bedrooms as well as a basement communal area, with cinema room and gym.

Stepnell’s Nottingham team has already begun work on the development and is expected to complete by September 2017.

The development uses modular Metsec bathroom pods which are delivered on site ready fitted for installation.

“Our team has a strong record of successfully delivering high-profile construction projects for the higher education sector and we are excited to bring that expertise to this important scheme,” said Stepnell operations and commercial manager Thomas Sewell.

Education sector projects completed by Stepnell’s Nottingham office over the past two years include a gallery for the University of Leicester’s Attenborough Arts Centre and the first phase of a students’ hub at the University of Nottingham.
