Sacyr signs up to build Bolivian cement plant

24 Mar 17 A consortium led by Sacyr Industrial is to build a new cement plant in Bolivia under a US$241m (£187m) contract.

The project involves the design, construction, assembly and commissioning of a new clinker and cement line on a site in Potosí for Empresa Pública Productiva Cementos de Bolivia. Capacity of the clinker line will be 3,000 tonnes per day and the cement line will be able to produce up to 1.3 million tonnes a year.

The contract was signed with Servicio de Desarrollo de las Empresas Públicas Productiva and is the second of its kind for Sacyr in Bolivia, following the award of Oruro cement plant in 2015.
