Salini lands €260m Turkish hydro project

27 Nov 14 Salini Impregilo is to build a 145m-high rock-fill dam with an asphalt core as part of a €260m (£206m) project it has won in Turkey.

The company has an 85% share in joint venture with local company NTF to carry out the civil works related to the Cetin hydroelectric plant on the Botan River, a tributary of the Tigris River in the southeastern part of the country.

The contract entails the construction of the dam – which will have a volume of 11.5 million cubic metres – together with intake works, a spillway and open-air power plant for an installed power of 400MW and 1100GWh/year.
