Salix Homes awards repairs contract to Morrison
Salford based Salix Homes has awarded a major contract to repairs and maintenance provider Morrison.
The contract, which begins on 1 April 2011, is for the provision of a range of repairs and maintenance services including day to day responsive repairs and void maintenance services to 10,500 properties across Central Salford and the Beechfarm and Rainsough Brow estates.
Matt Roberts, head of investment and maintenance at Salix Homes said: "After a thorough selection process, we are delighted with the appointment. Morrison has a proven track record of working with housing organisations and residents and we are looking forward to a successful partnership.
“We were particularly impressed with how they embraced our commitment to putting residents at the heart of the organisation and delivering excellent customer service."
Morrison secured the 18-month contract with an option to extend it for a further two years, following a competitive tender process through the Procure Plus repairs framework.
Des Morris, partnering director for Morrison in the northwest said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this new contract. It has been our long term ambition to work with Salix Homes, as we believe our organisational approaches are strongly aligned and that together we can bring real enhancement to their customers.
“Having worked in Manchester and Salford for a number of years now, we have a good understanding of the type of properties and a good knowledge of the area in which we will be working. This means we can really hit the ground running and ensure together with Salix Homes that its residents receive a first class service.”
