Shepherd picked for Telford schools
Telford & Wrekin Council has selected Shepherd Construction as contractor for its £110m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
The first project is the rebuild of the Ercall Wood Technology College in Wellington.
Outline planning consent was granted last month.
Shepherd will build a new 900-place secondary school with a three storey teaching building. It will then demolish the existing school buildings.
Subject to detailed planning permission, it is anticipated that work will start on site early next year.
Ercall Wood is one of six schools being rebuilt under the council’s BSF programme, and a seventh is to be remodelled.
Shepherd Construction programme director Peter Bates said: "This is great news for Shepherd and we look forward to working in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council to deliver high quality educational and community facilities for the benefit of local people in Telford and Wrekin.”
