Skanska picked for Norwegian headquarters building

30 Jun 16 Skanska has been appointed for a new headquarters building in Oslo for food business Orkla.

The client is Drammensveien 149 Nybygg, a wholly owned subsidiary of Orkla Eiendom. The contract is worth NOK530M (£46.8m).

The project consists of an office building with 19,500m2 of usable floor area, 1,600m2 of apartments and a parking structure. The main building will consist of seven storeys with an additional 16-storey high tower.

The aim is for the project to be certified as BREEAM NOR Excellent. The building will be very energy efficient, partly thanks to its own solar plant on the roof. It is centrally located in Oslo and will have few parking spaces, but 630 bicycle spaces.

Construction will start in October for completion in October 2018, while the project’s apartments will be ready for occupancy in December 2018.
