Skanska sells Midlands hospital assets

Skanska has sold its investment in three hospitals in the Midlands to co-investor Innisfree for £66m.

The three PPP (Private Public Partnership) hospitals are: University Hospital Coventry, Derby City General Hospital and the Sherwood Forest Hospitals.

Skanska was responsible for the design and construction of the hospitals, and operations at the facilities began in June 2007, December 2008 and March 2011 respectively.

Under a separate contract, Skanska UK is also responsible for the hard facility management Services at Derby City General Hospital and the Sherwood Forest Hospitals. Although it has sold its equity interests in these hospitals, Skanska will continue to deliver the hard facility management services at Derby City General Hospital and Sherwood Forest Hospitals.
