The joint venture with Gates Construction is led by Skanska. The total contract value is US$144m (£86m) and Skanska will carry out a 75% share.
The new eight-story patient tower will include a paediatric emergency department, and there will be a total of 160 beds in the new patient pavilion. The hospital’s main facility will also be renovated.
Renovation work will begin in April or May and construction of the new patient tower will begin in April 2014. Both the renovation and construction are slated for completion in April 2017.
