Skelair brings in new drill rig
Skelair International, a supplier of ground engineering and rock drilling equipment, has extended its portfolio of McDrill rigs to include the MDT-40 range of multi-purpose drills.
The Italian-made MDT-40 range is designed for applications with restricted access, such as indoor drilling and tunnels. It can accommodate a range of drilling works, including micro piling, soil consolidation and jet grouting.
Engine power is 47Kw at 2,300rpm, rotary torque is up to 9000Nm and pull-back is up to 7000kg.
The MDT-40KS version has an external diesel power pack and cable up to 25m, allowing the rig to be used in applications such as basement works.
Skelair managing director John Mayo said: “The McDrill MDT-40 range is an excellent all-rounder in terms of drilling applications and is proven on the continent as ideal for smaller sites and restricted access.”
Skelair is also represents other equipment manufacturers, including EMCI, Klemm, Marini, TEI, Obermann and Wassara.
