Southern councils open doors for £4bn framework

3 Jun 14 A consortium of local authorities in the south of England is putting together a construction framework contract that it says could be worth up to £4 billion.

Hampshire County Council, Devon County Council and London's Haringey Council are together seeking expressions of interest from contractors for inclusion on the southern construction framework for public sector major construction projects (projects worth more than £1m).

The framework will run for four years, from October 2015 and will be open to use by public sector organisations across southern England.

It will be a successor to the current southern regional framework agreement and to those currently known as Construction Framework South West (CFSW) and iESE South East and London Construction Framework for Major Projects. The framework will also be complementary to the new suite of local construction frameworks being established by the London Construction Programme.
