Environmental Engineering Ltd (EE) specialises in HVAC and M&E services in the food and beverage industry. A subsidiary, MSS Clean Technology, specialises in the design, installation and commissioning of clean technology systems for pharmaceutical laboratories. Together they generated revenue of £19m last year.

EE joins Spie UK’s Industrial Services division and with EE based in Manchester and MSS in York, the acquisition strengthens Spie’s presence in the north of England.

Spie UK chief executive James Thoden van Velzen said: “The addition of EE to Spie is a very exciting move for us. Not only does it open a door to new markets, customers and services, but it also provides huge scope for growth within very dynamic sectors. We welcome the chance to grow our team and EE’s unique skill-sets will be a valuable accompaniment to the Spie family.”

Guy Fishwick, co-founder of EE alongside Paul Scurrah, added: “Since EE was established 25 years ago, we have put great emphasis on our growth and development. Today represents the next exciting move and we are thrilled that it will be with a business as well respected as Spie.”
