It is the first use of the software in the energy sector.

The energy plant is being built by Multifuel Energy – a joint venture between power station owner SSE and process contractor Wheelabrator Technologies. Main contractor is Hitachi Zosen Inova.

Sypro is a Yorkshire-based company. Managing director Simon Hunt  said: “This is a local project which we are really excited about. It’s also great to work with a large plc like SSE.

“We see a lot of potential in the energy sector, particularly with the capital investment in renewable energy sources.  We want to capitalise on this opportunity and see what others there are out there for Sypro.”
