Szerelmey wins £1m facade design and installation contract
Szerelmey the stonework specialist is undertaking a £1m façade design and installation contract at St James’ Gateway, a new 97,000 sq ft development in London’s Mayfair.
Szerelmey has been appointed to design, supply material and install a Contemporary Faience façade to the Piccadilly elevations of the building. Interestingly an artist will be designing the artwork to the cornice that crowns the façade.
St James’ Gateway is located between Piccadilly and Jermyn Street. When completed, it will consolidate seven existing buildings into one new building and one refurbished building. It will comprise 57,000 sq ft of office space, 21,000 sq ft of retail space and 19,000 sq ft of residential units.
Szerelmey is due to start onsite in July 2012 and complete the work in December 2012.
Work is being carried out for the client The Crown Estate. Stanhope is the development manager, Lend Lease is the construction manager and Eric Parry is the architect.
