T&T buys Australian project management specialist

23 Apr 15 Turner & Townsend has increased its headcount in Australia by more than 50% with the acquisition of project management specialist Thinc.

The acquisition unites two independent consultancies to create a company of more than 400 people based in 10 locations across Australia.It is in line with Turner & Townsend’s expansion strategy for Australia, and follows a period of organic growth across the business.

Turner & Townsend CEO Vincent Clancy said that the acquisition is part of Turner & Townsend’s wider strategy for growth and that Turner & Townsend and Thinc share similar culture and values.

Thinc provides strategic planning and management of projects across Australia in all sectors, and its clients include Virgin, Queensland Health and Western Australia Public Transport Authority. The company also operates in New Zealand, Fiji and Indonesia.

Thinc’s CEO Geoff Hardy will now lead a specialised project management practice – Turner & Townsend Thinc – within Turner & Townsend’s Australian operation. It will have offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Townsville.
