Terex swaps Genie telehandler distribution

Terex is giving its Genie telehandlers a new sales push in the UK with a change in distribution.

Genie-branded telehandlers have previously been sold directly by Genie itself but by a sales force more focused on selling Genie’s more familiar aerial work platforms.

Parent company Terex is now placing responsibility for sales and service of Genie telehandlers with its in-house construction equipment sales team, Terex Distribution Ltd (TDL).

TDL will offer six Italian-made Genie telehandler models ranging in size from 6m and 7m compact units through to the larger 13m and 17m high reach machines.

TDL general manager Cameron Watson said: “Genie have refined and developed their product offering over the last 20 months and this, combined with TDL’s success in aftermarket support, will provide customers with cost effective and efficient solutions to their telehandler requirements. We also offer service contracts for customers who do not want to service and maintain their own machines.”

TDL is also the UK distributor of Terex’s artic/rigid dump trucks and industrial wheel loaders and the Atlas range of material handlers and wheeled excavators.

The wholly-owned Terex subsidiary has a UK network of 53 mobile service engineers.
