Timber products firms invited to share in £21m framework

3 Dec 12 Public sector specialist procurement consortium LHC is looking to produce a slate of pre-qualified suppliers of timber windows and doors.

LHC already offers public sector buyers prequalified suppliers of PVC-U and aluminium profile products together with composite doors. It is now looking to add timber products to its lists.

LHC director John Skivington said: “We are getting ready to begin the tendering process to identify contractors who will be appointed on a regional basis. The successful companies selected in each region will be promoted to our database of member and user contacts including social housing providers and schools in the UK. These bodies have budgets of up to £60m to spend on components and services each year, with a total of £21m being spent on LHC window and door products last year.

Interested companies are invited to complete a prequalification questionnaire ahead of the invitations to tender stage.

Mr Skivington claimed: “LHC framework arrangements open doors to new opportunities, particularly where the client is looking for a quick procurement process within legislative requirements. The tender process also provides approval that endorses their credentials to customers through meeting the required standards and proving their competence.”

More information about the framework arrangements can be found on LHC’s website.
