UKTI highlights openings on Japanese sports project

20 Jun 16 Japan has opened the tender process for a construction and operational services contract in connection with the development of a sports complex.

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) said that Tochigi prefecture is developing an area for residents to enjoy sports and promote their health.

The work is taking place ahead of a National Sports Festival being held in Tochigi prefecture in 2021.

Facilities will include a new gymnasium incorporating a 5,000-capacity main arena and 300-seat sub arena, a 50m indoor swimming pool and an arena for boxing.

Applications are due in mid July 2016.
