Versalift targets power line work with tracked platform

14 Jan 16 Versalift has launched a hydraulic, articulating telescopic aerial work platform mounted onto a Morooka tracked chassis.

The LAT-38-140-H Low Voltage offers a working height of 14 metres, a 6.4-metre outreach and a bucket safe working load of 230kg.

The Morooka MST300VD chassis has a 4 cylinder, 2.2 litre Kubota diesel engine and has bi-directional seating positions.

Versalift sales director Andy Bray said: “Working closely with Cautrac, the UK distributor of Morooka tracked chassis, we have developed a low voltage insulated platform with a ‘ride on’ tracking speed of 9km/h (5.6mph). The extremely low ground bearing pressure, 10° levelling capability, coupled with the high tracking speed make it possible to quickly deploy the machine in previously inaccessible locations. Deck area has been left clear to enable transportation of tools and equipment to remote job sites. There is a choice of both GRP walk in bucket or aluminium basket, both of which can be entered from either chassis or ground level.”

Low voltage insulation, rated to provide protection from live voltages up to 1kV AC, prevents electric shock to anyone on the ground who inadvertently touches the chassis, mainframe or outriggers should the boom or bucket make contact with a live conductor.
