VolkerFitzpatrick wins Ely bypass

VolkerFitzpatrick has been awarded a £25m contract to design and build the Ely southern bypass for Cambridgeshire County Council.

The Ely southern bypass will run from the A142 at Angel Drove to Stuntney Causeway, with new bridges to be built over the railway line and the River Great Ouse and its floodplains.

Total project cost is put at £35m.

Construction is expected to start later this year and take two years to complete.
