Wates cements position on East of England frameworks

2 Mar 16 Norfolk County Council has reappointed Wates Construction to its framework for projects valued above £3m.

The agreement adds to Wates’ portfolio on frameworks across the region. Its other roles include the joint Cambridgeshire County Council and Northamptonshire County Council construction framework, which covers both traditional and design and build projects. Wates is also part of the largest project lot within Suffolk County Council’s construction framework and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation capital works programme.

As one of five contractors appointed to Lot 2 of Norfolk County Council’s framework, Wates will now take its place on the delivery of a range of new-build, refurbishment, rebuild and remodelling projects valued above £3m.

The framework will be operated by Norfolk County Council’s corporate property team with NPS Group providing professional property services. It is scheduled to run for approximately three years with an optional extension for a further year.

Wates has pledged to engage regional supply chain partners in its project delivery whilst creating training and employment opportunities for local people.
