Wates is renovating the 1950s 18-storey office building, which is one of the oldest office towers in London. It has not disclosed the contract value.

Designed by Fletcher Priest Associates, the speculative commercial development will provide 92,000 sq ft of Category A office space, which is expected to achieve a BREEAM rating of excellent.

Completion of 20 Eastbourne Terrace is due in February 2016.

Fletcher Priest has come up with a glass veil cladding solution draped over the existing structural frame with an opaque pattern to vary the transparency of the façade.  A silk-screened fritting should protect against solar gain and reduce overlooking.
